Chairman: Sir Michael Snyder – Senior Partner, Kingston Smith
Sir Michael Snyder has been Senior Partner of Kingston Smith since 1990 and before that he was Managing Partner for 11 years. He is a Common Councilman of the City of London Corporation and was until April 2008 Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee, effectively the leader of the City of London’s Government. He is also Chairman of the Professional and Business Services Group, Sector Champion for Professional and Business Services in the Government’s Red Tape Challenge and Chairman of the Association of Practicing Accountants (APA). In addition to these responsibilities, Michael is the Master of the Tallow Chandlers’ Livery Company.
Michael is also actively involved with the academies programme, leading the sponsorship of 3 Academies for the City of London (Southwark, Islington and Hackney) as well as having been a member of the Academy sponsors Trust. Michael is currently a Governor of the City of London School for Girls and is also Vice Chairman of Brentwood School in Essex.
Appeal Director: Lizzie Allen
As Director of the Lord Mayor Appeal 2013, Lizzie will lead the Appeal’s fundraising campaign, events and communications with support from the Lord Mayor and the Appeal Committee.
Lizzie Allen is the Managing Director of the City Music Foundation, the main beneficiary of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal. Lizzie joined the City Music Foundation in May 2012 and has been integral to its creation and strategic direction. Lizzie has over 12 years experience in events and communications and her career has taken her from the west end to the city of London to working in the US and Asia. Most recently she was Head of Global Events and Partnership at the Financial Times.
A keen musician herself, Lizzie has a degree in music from the University of Bristol, and plays the violin, piano and sings.
