“We're very proud to be involved in this fantastic scheme. It not only proactively diverts young people away from crime, but also helps build and transfer positive skills onto the streets, such as teamwork and good sportsmanship.”
Gary Buttercase
Deputy Borough Commander for Newham.
City Cricket Dinner
Join us for a fabulous evening in celebration of the end of the great, English cricket season and to present to the winners of the Six in the City tournament, in support of the Lord Mayor's Appeal. As well as a host of cricketing stars, the evening, which will be held at the esteemed Grange Hotel, St Paul's, will feature a champagne and cocktail reception followed by a wonderful three-course dinner.
Channel Five's cricket presenter Mark Nicholas will host the event, which will include a speech by special guest Geoff 'Dusty' Miller, Chairman of the England Selectors, as well as a question and answer session with current male and female England Cricketers.
The event will attract over 400 guests, drawn from the City and the cricketing world and will provide the perfect opportunity to celebrate this great English sport, while raising funds for disadvantaged young people across London.
Guests will include Governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King. The Lord Mayor will be in attendance to present the winners with their trophy.
