Volunteering for the Samaritans

In the nine months of pandemic restrictions since March 2020, Samaritans volunteers have provided emotional support more than 1.7 million times by phone, email or letter. It’s thanks to support from The Lord Mayor’s Appeal that the charity is able to continue to be there for anyone struggling to cope. Samaritans’ 20,000 volunteers are responding 24 hours a day to calls for help. Three of those volunteers - Sam, Helen and Simon  - have shared their experiences of being Samaritans volunteers in a new video.
