20 May Cheers! Beerfest is back at Guildhall Yard
Down the rabbit hole at The Sheriff's Ball!
The evening of the 21st September was one to remember for the two Sheriffs of the City of London Alderman and Sheriff Tim Hailes and Sheriff Neil Redcliffe as they hosted the third annual Sheriffs’ Ball at Guildhall.
The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress were in attendance alongside 450 guests primarily from livery companies to raise funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and to dance the night away. Themed ‘Sheriffs in Wonderland’ the Great Hall was beautifully decorated with the Company of Basketmakers creating a fantastic piece to guide guests ‘down the rabbit hole’ as they were welcomed to the drinks reception in the Crypt. Dinner was then served in the Great Hall accompanied with speeches from the Sheriffs and entertainment from singer Dan Olsen and from musicians Andre Saxman Brown and Sally Potterton during the dancing. A silent auction was ongoing with excellent lots available from mini breaks to sporting tickets and specialty Lord Mayor’s Gin, heads and tails was played at the start of the evening for a chance to win a bottle of Pol Roger Champagne and there was also a raffle for a stunning Boodles diamond necklace. The night was a great success and enjoyed by all who attended. Thank you to everyone who supported the Sheriffs’ Ball in any way with special thanks to attendees and those who donated prizes.
Next year’s Sheriffs’ Ball will take place on Friday 20th September 2019. To register your interest please contact Yasmin Kazi, Events Manager at The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, on Yasmin.email@example.com or call 0207 332 3080.
