On 11 April 2019, the new OnSide Youth Zone was opened at Barking and Dagenham.

Barking and Dagenham Youth Zone, named by young people as ‘Future’, will be a purpose-built facility for the borough’s young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities.  It will also be London’s first OnSide Youth Zone thanks to the support of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the other Founder Patrons and capital funders.

The Barking and Dagenham Council Leader Darren Rodwell said: “It will transform young peoples lives & make such a difference in the local area.”

Future was opened by HRH The Duke of Sussex. Where a plaque was unveiled alongside demonstrations of the numerous activities and facilities on offer for young people. From boxing, climbing and other sports activities to the music room – there is so much on offer! The Lord Mayor was in attendance for what will be London’s first OnSide Youth Zone. With 2 more set to open in Barnet and Croydon – it truly is an exciting time for OnSide and we are delighted to be charity partners.
