Samaritans launches CityHub
Thanks to funding from The Lord Mayor's Appeal, Samaritans are launching CityHub, a new service delivery centre for volunteers in the City of London.
Because they know that people lead busy lives, fitting volunteering in around lots of other responsibilities, they've set up the new initaitive which offers a flexible approach to how much time people need to volunteer for. This will enable them to recruit more volunteers to help them launch a new webchat service and meet the increasing demand for their service. Through Lord Mayors Appeal funding, Samaritans will be able to recruit an additional 300 volunteers through City Hub.
As ever, they provide full training and ongoing support. If you're looking for a way to make a difference to people’s lives and work or live near London Bridge, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. They are especially keen to hear from people who are interested in supporting people going through a tough time, open-minded and non-judgemental and able to listen without telling people what to do.
