The killing of George Floyd and the widespread outpouring of anger and hurt is heartrending and sobering. As an organisation we acknowledge the racial injustices experienced by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people and the suffering it causes. For our vision to create ‘A Better City for All’, to be fully realised, we recognise that we must all lead by example and actively demonstrate our commitment to anti-racism at every level; in our homes, in our communities and in the workplace. This work cannot be achieved in the short term and requires us all to take ongoing actions over time.

So as we look inward to assess how we can learn from and support this new wave of awareness and solidarity, we will continue to champion our core values of inclusion, wellbeing and fairness that run throughout our Power of Inclusion, This is Me, She Can Be... and City Giving Day initiatives.

We encourage you all to reflect on what changes you can make too and we stand together with you.
