Power of Inclusion Social Mobility Workshop Series: Beyond Hiring

Join The Lord Mayor's Appeal for the next workshop in our Power of Inclusion social mobility workshop series, kindly hosted by Linklaters.

Chaired by Dan Robertson, Director of Vercida Consulting and chair of the Power of Inclusion Senior Leadership Forum, the event will focus on effective practice beyond the hiring stage. You will hear from expert speakers and other organisations about ensuring social mobility is addressed in your business beyond hiring practices, socioeconomic background data is monitored beyond recruitment and a sense of belonging is prioritised in the business. Keynote speeches from Tabitha Hutton, Inclusion & Diversity Manager at Grant Thornton UK LLP and Jane Edwarde, Partner at Slaughter and May, will set the scene for productive roundtable discussions.

The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s Power of Inclusion initiative aims to create a City that is inclusive and open to everyone regardless of background. From 2022-2024 the programme is focused on social mobility and will enable your business to gain expert insights from others, share effective practice on policies and programmes, and collaborate for effective change. 

At this workshop, we are facilitating a space for senior leaders, DEI champions and social mobility experts to hear keynote speeches and engage in roundtable discussions exploring the following themes and questions: 

• The importance and benefits of establishing a sense of belonging for employees from all socioeconomic backgrounds 
• Collecting and tracking socioeconomic background data beyond the recruitment stage, to monitor the link between socioeconomic background and progression/retention. 
• Ensuring everyone who joins your organisation is able to reach their potential, access opportunities for development and progress.
