Roc Technologies hits the water for a great cause with LDN London
The Lord Mayor's Appeal Corporate Partner Roc Technologies will be taking part in City Giving Day 2025 in September.
To get into the spirit of charity giving, we asked them to share a recent volunteering story with us...
On Friday 16th May, Roc Technologies joined businesses from across London for the Learning Disability Network (LDN) London Dragon Boat Race - a fantastic day of sunshine, team spirit and paddling with purpose.
LDN London, one of Roc’s valued customers, is a leading organisation that supports people with learning disabilities to live more independently, confidently and happily. The Dragon Boat Race is one of their key fundraising events, helping to raise vital funds to support their work across the capital - from supported living services to community outreach and family advocacy.
Representing Roc was our aptly named team, Roc ‘n’ Row - 20 enthusiastic paddlers from all corners of the business, many of whom travelled from around the UK to take part. Under glorious blue skies, Roc ‘n’ Row took to the water with energy, enthusiasm, making it all the way to 4th place overall and just narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.
More importantly, it was a brilliant opportunity to support a cause we care about and to spend time with a customer we’re proud to partner with. The atmosphere was buzzing, the competition friendly, and the sense of community undeniable.
A huge thank you to LDN London for putting on such a fantastic event – which looks set to raise over £13000 - and for the incredible work they do every day to build a more inclusive and supportive society.
