The Lord Mayor’s Last Laugh: A Grand Finale of Celebration, Comedy and Charity
The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor, Alderman Alastair King DL, will be closing the mayoral year in style with the much-anticipated Lord Mayor’s Last Laugh, taking place at the stunning Guildhall on Wednesday 5 November 2025.
Organised by The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, the event will bring together entertainment, fine dining and philanthropy in support of its two partner charities: Homewards, a programme of The Royal Foundation aimed at ending homelessness, and MQ Mental Health Research, the UK’s leading charity advancing mental health through science.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of laughter, celebration and heartfelt generosity. Star of the show will be the brilliant Alexander Armstrong, television presenter of the popular game show Pointless and one half of the acclaimed comedy duo Armstrong and Miller. He will be joined by special guests including actor and writer Poppy Scales, and broadcaster and restaurant critic William Sitwell, who will bring his signature charisma as Master of Ceremonies. Plus, there might be a surprise or two in store.
Guests will be welcomed with a Nyetimber sparkling wine reception before sitting down to a thoughtfully curated three-course dinner. Fundraising highlights will include an auction offering exclusive, one-of-a-kind prizes.
Reflecting on his year, the Lord Mayor said:
“We have been truly humbled by the incredible generosity shown throughout our mayoral year. The Lord Mayor’s Last Laugh is our chance to say thank you, to come together, share some laughter and celebrate the difference we have made together.”
Supported by Nyetimber, this black-tie gala is expected to draw leading figures from across the City of London and will serve as the final fundraising event of Alderman King’s mayoralty.
