From London with Love: The London Market Dinner 2025 raises record funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal

Over 500 guests from London’s insurance and reinsurance industry attended the London Market Dinner 2025 – the Lord Mayor’s Appeal biennial fundraiser – at the historic Guildhall, on Wednesday 15 October. With 48 companies in attendance, this year’s event raised a phenomenal £700,000.

Hosted by Lord Mayor Alderman Alastair King DL and the Lady Mayoress, the event is the largest of its kind for the insurance sector in London. This year’s James Bond-inspired theme, “From London With Love”, celebrated the London Market and its global influence.

Guests were welcomed with a ‘shaken not stirred’ drinks reception before enjoying a three-course dinner in the Guildhall’s grand surroundings, accompanied by exhilarating performances from Beyond Repair Entertainment’s singer singing Bond classics, whilst aerial dancers wowed the audience with their hoop skills. On top of the show stopping performances, there was a thrilling live auction and paddle pledge moment led by the impressive Jamie MacDonald whose enthusiasm and energy infected the audience into giving generously.

Speeches from Lord Mayor Alderman Alastair King DL and Irem Yerdelen, member of the organising committee, highlighted the power of the London Market to drive meaningful change through generosity and collaboration.

This event was made possible thanks to the dedication of the organising committee, Lidia Bozhevolnaya, Hugh Brennan, Tom Clementi, Matt Jenkins, Ola Jacob Raji, Hannah Kate Smith, Tom Sutton, Vivek Syal, Emma Woolley and Irem Yerdelen. A special thank is due to Dominic Christian, Chair of the Committee, for his leadership and commitment to raising important funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

The funds raised will help The Lord Mayor’s Appeal in its mission to create a fairer, healthier, and more skilled and inclusive City through its partner charities and programmes.
