Full Steam Ahead for First Ever Pullman Journey from Cannon Street
For the first time in history, the iconic British Pullman departed from Cannon Street station last Thursday for a once-in-a-lifetime journey hosted by The Lady Mayor Alderman Dame Susan Langley.
185 guests joined the Lady Mayor as the stunning Art Deco British Pullman carriages journeyed through the Kent countryside.
The Lady Mayor Alderman Dame Susan Langley said;
“The event passed the expectations of everybody on board that we spoke to. What a wonderful way to raise vital funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal to support a future where every young person has a fair chance to fulfil their potential, no matter what challenges they face. Thanks to British Pullman and GB Railfreight who have been immensely generous in making the day work and for those that continue to support our aim to unsquare the Square Mile.”
Guests were welcomed with English sparkling wine from Chapel Down and canape reception at City landmark, and home of the Lady Mayor, Mansion House before being escorted to Cannon Street station in full ceremonial splendour by The Company of Pikemen & Musketeers.
Aboard the luxurious carriages, guests enjoyed a five-course fine dining menu paired with Chapel Down wines, live entertainment from The Wild Tonics and Magician Stephen Barry.
