City of London Nocturne Delights Crowds & Raises Funds for The Lord Mayor's Appeal

Thousands of cycling fans and families descended on the City of London for the inaugural Nocturne - a spectacular day of racing, entertainment and community activities while raising vital funds for The Lord Mayor's Appeal during Saturday's Family Day.

Attended by the Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley, the event featured thrilling elite races, with Isle of Man rider Matt Bostock claiming victory in the Men's Elite Race after an exciting sprint finish through the heart of the City. The two-day festival also included family-friendly activities, support races, the Voi Bike Challenge, a Brompton folding bike race and the ever-popular penny farthing events.

One of the standout moments came when Neil Laughton set a new Guinness World Records title by successfully riding the world's largest rideable penny farthing – standing an incredible 13 feet tall – along the Nocturne course near Bank Station. The achievement was witnessed by cheering crowds and added a unique spectacle to an unforgettable day.

Funds raised from the Family Day will support The Lord Mayor's Appeal and its mission to create better opportunities for people to thrive and prosper in our dynamic city.

There's still time to support The Appeal by entering the Win a Dream Bike Raffle here where one lucky winner will take home a stunning custom bike.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated and supported this fantastic new addition to London's sporting calendar. What a brilliant year for City events its been already.
