The ever-so-popular Lord Mayor’s Appeal Abseil Challenge returns on Friday 5th July however for the first time ever it will take place in Canary Wharf this year. We are delighted to partner with Barclays to hold the event at Barclays HQ at 1 Churchill Place which, standing at 156 metres, is one of the tallest buildings in Canary Wharf. The Abseil Challenge requires core muscle strength, a good sense of balance and the ability to control your nerves as you descend down this iconic building. A team of experts from Mile End Climbing Wall will be on hand to show you the ropes and the Abseil is open to everyone who is reasonably fit and healthy, no previous experience needed.
There are 100 abseil places available. The registration fee is £35 and minimum sponsorship target is £1,000 per participant.
The Lord Mayor, Alderman Peter Estlin, will also be taking part in the Abseil himself and looks forward to many of you joining him for the challenge. You can sponsor him at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/aldermanpeterestlin - any donation, however large or small, will be greatly appreciated!
To register please complete and submit the registration form below. Please note that the registration fee of £35 is non-refundable. For any questions about the event please contact Pauliina Lyttinen, Events Manager at the Lord Mayor's Appeal, on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0207 332 3464.
