The Lord Mayor's Golf Day is a great success
19 teams teed off in glorious sunshine yesterday for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s annual fundraising Golf Day. Taking place at one of the UK’s top 10 golf courses, Royal St George’s Golf Club in Sandwich, the fun-filled day raised money for the Appeal’s three chosen charities National Numeracy, MQ Mental Health Research and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Competition was fierce including some great drives from The Lord Mayor’s own team The Mansion House Hackers, but it was The Green Grocers who rose victorious for their excellent 89 point score in the 18 hole course, captained by Philip Woodhouse. Well done to everyone who took part.
To fuel the competitors for the big day, The Lord Mayor hosted a private dinner on Sunday evening including a thrilling live auction and raffle to raise funds for the Appeal and its commitment to making A Better City for All. Thank you to the Great XII livery companies for donating wine for the raffle, and to all the donors for their fantastic prizes.
