The Lady Mayor's Cup 2026 Brings the City Together
Thanks to everyone who joined a fantastic day for The Lady Mayor's Cup 2026.
Despite the scorching summer heat, teams from across the City came together at for a day of football, fundraising and networking.
On the day, Mike Eccleston from Revolut said:
"I had the pleasure of representing Revolut at The Lady Mayor's Cup for the second year running. After a fantastic inaugural event last year, it was great to take a team down to Shoreditch Powerleague pitches in support of The Lord Mayor's Appeal. We once again fell at the quarter final hurdle, but it was a great day-out for a good cause."
The competition was fierce, with every team demonstrating determination and teamwork. Congratulations to overall tournament winners, EY London and Simmons & Simmons, who were presented the champions trophy and plate respectively by The Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley herself. Also huge round of applause for runners up Hiscox FC and Axis.
More than just a contest, The Lady Mayor's Cup was created to bring businesses together and support a shared purpose which, according to Danielè Black from First Bank Group, show that ‘business, community and purpose don't have to sit separately.’
The 5-a-side, mixed teams format alongside plenty of fun fundraising activities and barbeque lunch gave the participants the chance to connect throughout the day. Ollie Lomax from Hiscox said it was ‘a fantastic opportunity to meet people from across the City outside of the insurance market’, while Phoebe Ward from Pinsent Masons agreed The Lady Mayor’s Cup ‘brings people together in a way that feels natural and inclusive, creating space for meaningful conversations while supporting an important cause.’
Proceeds from The Lady Mayor’s Cup will help support charities such as West Ham United Foundation, the leading social and community outreach organisation providing inclusive, life-changing opportunities for residents in East London and Essex.
Candice Ruffell from Addleshaw Goddard praised the cup’s scope to ‘make a real difference both on the pitch and for the causes we care about’ while Marcus Solimeno from The Leathersellers' Company described ‘the collective joy that is shared by playing football with your friends’ and ‘an opportunity to create opportunities for young people.’
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year's tournament such a success – particularly the participating teams. We’ll see you on the pitch next year!
