City Stories: EY Foundation

Why are you supporting City Giving Day?

City Giving Day is a chance for our colleagues to get together, and have fun celebrating the hard work we’ve done delivering our purpose of building a better working world for our chosen charities. We hope to encourage more people to volunteer; as individuals, as a team and alongside our clients.

Which charities or communities do you support?

Where possible we focus on charities that support the next generation or Impact Entrepreneurs. One way we do this is through our independent charity the EY Foundation, which supports young people facing barriers to employment unlock their potential through skills training and paid work experience. It also helps social enterprises scale sustainably through business coaching and workshops.

How will you celebrate City Giving Day?

This year we’re hoping to paint our corner of Canary Wharf red. We’ll be sending our sharpest minds to tackle the City Giving Day quiz, running a Financial Literacy workshop and planning activity in collaboration with MindOut to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Which charity are you supporting, why are you supporting it?

The key to engaging our people is to support charities that matter to them, including our regular charity partner, Whizz-Kidz, who transform the lives of disabled children by providing vital equipment, support & life skills to reach their full potential.

“City Giving Day is a fantastic opportunity to engage with colleagues on Corporate Sustainability, sharing volunteering stories and inspiring one another to do that little bit more.”

Sally Yiallouros, Operations Manager & Corporate Sustainability Network Lead, EY
