City Stories: Linklaters

Why are you supporting City Giving Day?

As a long-standing supporter of City Giving Day, we understand that we have responsibility to contribute our expertise to tackle critical local and global challenges. Supporting social impact has always been part of the culture of the firm, and this annual event enables us to celebrate and showcase volunteering activities.

Which charities or communities do you support?

Our community investment work applies professional skills from across our business to make a positive social impact. We support projects which help underrepresented groups in the workforce. Through education and employability programmes we aim to increase individual potential, promote equal access to opportunities and ultimately diversify representation in business and society.

How will you celebrate City Giving Day?

Our impact is more powerful in collaboration. This is the fifth consecutive year Linklaters, together with UBS and Societe Generale, are jointly supporting the charity ELBA to improve employability skills and help east Londoners get closer to, and into employment as part of the Hackney East project.

Which charity are you supporting, why are you supporting it?

On City Giving Day volunteers from Linklaters, UBS and Societe Generale will share their business skills with Hackney-based charities who offer community services and support residents into jobs.

“Hackney East highlights the benefits of partnership to support the local community. Employee volunteers share and develop expertise while beneficiaries increase their confidence, skills and networks.”

Louise Muller, Programme Director, ELBA
