London Market Dinner 2021
Fourth time lucky! After having to postpone the London Market Dinner three times due to the pandemic, we were finally able to welcome guests to the second London Market Dinner held at Guildhall in aid of The Lord Mayor's Appeal on 30 September 2021.
Hosted by the Lord Mayor, the London Market Dinner brought together firms involved in the London insurance market and focused on climate change, biodiversity and sustainability, all issues of huge relevance to the insurance industry.
The 560 guests in attendance were greeted by the Company of Pikemen & Musketeers and treated to a champagne reception, a top 4-course meal, speeches by the Lord Mayor and Lidia Bozhevolnaya from the Organising Committee, a roaming party band Super Tenants, trumpet fanfares by the Band of The Royal Yeomanry, a mystery game, a silent auction, and a live auction by Jeffrey Archer with a small number of truly money-can’t-buy lots.
Net proceeds from the event will primarily go to The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and 10% will also be devoted to Whitley Fund for Nature, a cause that aligns closely with the Protect Our Planet theme.
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal would like to thank everyone who supported and attended the event, especially the Organising Committee chaired by Dominic Christian for their hard work and commitment.
