City Stories: Salix Finance
Why are you supporting City Giving Day?
Salix is planning to be involved in City Giving Day again this year, when a lot of our staff devote the day to fund raising for the Lord Mayor’s charities. All staff have great fun giving back to this great city we work in.
Which charities or communities do you support?
Salix holds several fundraising events a year which support environmental charities in England, Scotland and Wales and two international charities. The international work pays for the bus fares for children in South Africa who otherwise could not get to school and provides learning materials for school children in their languages in Africa and Asia. We also support the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch.
How will you celebrate City Giving Day?
This year, Salix will be supporting CGD and the Lord Mayor’s charities by entering a team into the Tour de City static cycle for the second year running as well as taking part in the City Giving Day Quiz night. We have also purchased tickets for the Long Lunch on 24th September
Which charity are you supporting, why are you supporting it?
Salix will be raising funds for the Lord Mayor’s charities, which make a difference to people’s lives in London. We ask that all funds raised are shared equally between the charities
“Every day, Salix work to make a difference. We aim to reduce the carbon footprint of all public bodies. Across CGD, we switch our efforts to the Lord Mayor’s charities.”
