29 September Why we're focusing on social mobility this #NationalInclusionWeek
City Stories: Credit Agricole CIB
Why are you supporting City Giving Day?
Crédit Agricole CIB has a longstanding commitment to active citizenship, and City Giving Day is a great opportunity to remind our colleagues of our philanthropy programme, encouraging them to get involved in supporting our local community.
Which charities or communities do you support?
Crédit Agricole CIB has a longstanding commitment to active citizenship, and City Giving Day is a great opportunity to remind our colleagues of our philanthropy programme, encouraging them to get involved in s nominate charities which are important to them for additional sponsorship, and we run a quarterly lottery in which 50% of the proceeds are donated to London Air Ambulance.
How will you celebrate City Giving Day?
We will be running a Static Bike Challenge, with teams racing each other on different floors of the office, competing to become “the Fastest on the Floor.” There will be prizes for the Fastest on the Floor, as well as for the teams who manage to raise the highest amount. To spur on our colleagues in their bid for glory, the amount of money raised can boost their distance – the more sponsorship, the greater the headstart. The race is on!
Which charity are you supporting, why are you supporting it?
We aim to support our charities not only financially, but also “on the ground.” A number of staff provide 1to1 literacy support to children in a nearby school via Coram Beanstalk’s reading scheme; and every year our colleagues volunteer in the gardens of Richard House Children’s Hospice, helping them to maintain their woodlands and memory garden.
“We are proud to support London City Giving Day. It is a fantastic opportunity to promote and celebrate the support we provide to our partner charities and other good causes throughout the year.”
Jane Butler, Chair of the London Charities Committee at Credit Agricole CIB
