City Stories: Schroders

Why are you supporting City Giving Day?

CGD is a fantastic opportunity to come together with our neighbours. At Schroders, we’re proud to support our local communities and actively encourage our employees to do the same, through volunteering leave and our award-winning matched giving scheme. Volunteering our personal and professional skills is a great way to partner with our neighbours to improve futures for the City and its people.

Which charities or communities do you support?

We have a focus on social mobility, financial education and sustainability. Our recent plastics fundraiser saw employees fishing for plastic in the local canals and rethinking their single-use plastic consumption with our ‘rubbish’ turtles installation, This CGD, to tie in with World Green Building Week, we’ll have a sustainability focus. We’ll be exploring how we can create a green, healthy and climate resilient environment with our charity partners.

How will you celebrate City Giving Day?

Supporting and developing our local communities is at the heart of what we do, so we’ll be getting our employees out and about through showcasing opportunities with our partner, Benefacto, who connects us with local charities that need support.

Which charity are you supporting, why are you supporting it?

Benefacto is a social enterprise on a mission to engage more professional people in meaningful volunteering.

"Many thanks to Schroders and all our member companies! With your help in 2019, over 5000 professional people have volunteered with our 80+ charity partners."

Linz Darlington, CEO, Benefacto
