City Stories: Pool Re

Why are you supporting City Giving Day? 

City Giving Day is an opportunity to unite our local area for a great cause. Pool Re are delighted to take part this year by hosting a Sparkling Tea Party, raising much needed funds for a range of worthy causes. We are selling tickets for an afternoon of indulgence at the office, where guests can enjoy cream teas and other delicious baked goodies with a cheeky glass or two of fizz.

Which charities or communities do you support? 

We try and keep it local, our main partnership with Age UK Lewisham & Southwark focusses on the specific needs of the Stones End Day Centre in Southwark, a specialist care and support Centre. Since 1984 the Centre has developed a range of services to support the complex and changing needs of disadvantaged elderly people.

How will you celebrate City Giving Day? 

Our staff will all be wearing red! And aside from our afternoon tea party, we will also be taking part in the treasure hunt and quiz.

Which charity are you supporting, why are you supporting it? 

We are very proud of our work with Age UK, which enables Pool Re to reinforce its core values, foster innovation, leadership and personal accountability - thereby providing support to our local community through various volunteering and contribution initiatives.
