The Lady Mayoress's Sleep Out

Ditch your comfy, warm bed for a night and join the Lady Mayoress Felicity Lyons and Lord Mayor Alderman Nicholas Lyons at our second Sleep Out at Guildhall Yard on Thursday 16 March 2023. With the aim to highlight the high number of homeless people in the City and to raise money for charity, this event will give you a taste of what it could be like to sleep rough. The Lady Mayoress Felicity Lyons is keen to raise awareness of the issue more widely in the City.

50% of the net proceeds of the event will be donated to The Pret Foundation who tackle hunger, poverty and homelessness in communities local to Pret shops around the world. They make sure Pret’s freshly made unsold food reaches people who need it most, offer financial support to grassroots charities and help to break the cycle of homelessness by providing training and employment opportunities at Pret through their Rising Stars programme. The 50% balance of net proceeds will go to The Lord Mayor's Appeal and its beneficiary charities, some of which focus on mental health issues which are often one of the main causes of homelessness.

The registration fee is £25 and minimum sponsorship target is £500 excluding Gift Aid. Hot drinks and bacon butties will be provided for all sleepers. Participants will need to bring their own sleeping bags, cardboard, waterproofs, water bottles etc.

Registrations are now closed online but if you would still like to take part, please go to the registration desk in Guildhall Yard at 9.00pm on Thursday 16 March. If you have any questions about the event please email events@thelordmayorsappeal.org and our booking terms and conditions can be found here.
