The first Power of Inclusion online seminar, sponsored by Allianz Global Investors, will take place on Thursday 4 June from 10.00am-11.30am titled ‘An Introduction to Social Mobility: What is it and why is it important?’
London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, yet many people face significant barriers to getting a job or progressing their careers in the City because of their background. This first online seminar in our series of six, will raise awareness and inspire businesses by exploring social mobility from a range of perspectives. As we face the social and economic impact of Covid-19 we believe social mobility is more important than ever. The seminar will address the challenges and opportunities of social mobility and why it needs to be a priority for businesses.
Presentations will be given by Dr Sam Friedman, London School of Economics; Dr Joanna Abeyie MBE, Blue Moon; Chris Cummings, The Investment Association and Holly Crompton, PwC. The session will be chaired by Sarah Atkinson, Social Mobility Foundation and we will also be joined by Markus Kobler, Allianz Global Investors and Lord Mayor Alderman William Russell.
