21 November Lord Mayor’s Appeal launches new multi-year strategy 'A Better City for All'
Lord Mayor attends ICAP Charity Day 2017
The Lord Mayor Alderman Charles Bowman attended the 25th ICAP Charity Day at TP ICAP's offices in the City of London on Tuesday 5th December.
ICAP Charity Day is an annual fundraising campaign where for one day the company gives all their revenues and commissions to charity from a number of offices across the globe. Different celebrities and public figures will be attending on the day and raising money for the benefitting charities through telephone broking. By giving away all their revenues and commissions on just one day each year, they have positively changed the lives of thousands of people less fortunate.
During his morning visit to TP ICAP's offices, Alderman Charles Bowman did a tour on the trading floor which was buzzing with employees in the most imaginative fancy dress outfits, took part in various interactive competitions and closed a deal on the telephone lines. Royals and celebrities attending the event included HRH Duchess of Cornwall, Ronan Keating, Bill Nighy, Clare Balding OBE, Fleur East, Rio Ferdinand, Tinie Tempah and Sir Chris Hoy.
This year's ICAP Charity Day raised a fantastic £4.7 million globally which brings the total amount raised over the campaign’s 25-year history to over £139 million. The Lord Mayor's Appeal would like to express their sincere thanks to ICAP for choosing the Appeal once again as a beneficiary of ICAP Day 2017.
