The Lord Mayor Alderman William Russell and Lady Mayoress Hilary Russell attended the 27th ICAP Charity Day at TP ICAP's offices in the City of London on Tuesday 10th December.

ICAP Charity Day is an annual fundraising campaign where for one day the company gives all their revenues and commissions to charity from a number of offices across the globe. Different celebrities and public figures attend the day to raise money for the benefitting charities through telephone broking. By giving away all their revenues and commissions on just one day each year, they have positively changed the lives of thousands of people less fortunate.

On arrival at TP ICAP’s offices in the morning the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress were greeted by Nicolas Breteau, Group Chief Executive, who escorted them for a tour of the trading floor which was buzzing with employees in the most imaginative fancy dress outfits. The Lord Mayor also took part in various activities set up for the day and closed a £5bn deal on the telephone lines. Celebrities attending the event included David Walliams, Leigh Francis (Keith Lemon), Claudia Winkleman, Gareth Southgate, Claire Balding, Helen Lederer and Prue Leith.

This year's ICAP Charity Day raised an incredible £4.6 million and over the last 27 years ICAP Charity Day has raised approximately £150 million. The Lord Mayor's Appeal would like to express their sincere thanks to ICAP for choosing the Appeal once again as a beneficiary of ICAP Day 2019.
