The Lord Mayor Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley attended the world famous ICAP Charity Day at ICAP's offices in the City of London on Wednesday 7th December.
ICAP Charity Day is an annual fundraising campaign where for one day the company gives all their revenues and commissions to charity from a number of offices across the globe. Different celebrities and public figures will be attending on the day and raising money for the benefitting charities through telephone broking. By giving away all their revenues and commissions on just one day each year, they have positively changed the lives of thousands of people less fortunate.
During his morning visit to ICAP's offices, Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley welcomed HRH Prince Harry and HRH Countess of Wessex to the event and closed a deal on the telephone lines. Celebraties attending the event included Tom Hardy, Ruth Wilson, Dermot O'Leary, Louis Walsh, Jon Snow, Jason Isaacs, Ade Adepitan, Christopher Biggins, Rio Ferdinand, Elaine Page, Gail Porter, Samantha Bond and many more.
This year's ICAP Day raised a whopping £8.2 million globally which brings the total amount raised over the campaign’s 24-year history to nearly £135 million. The Lord Mayor's Appeal would like to express their sincere thanks to ICAP for choosing the Appeal as a beneficiary of ICAP Day 2016.
