Today is Time to Talk day! Too many people with mental health problems are made to feel isolated, worthless and ashamed. Time to Talk Day is a chance for all of us to be more open about mental health – to talk, to listen, to change lives. Wherever you are – at home, at work or up the top of a mountain! – have your conversation about mental health today.
We are proud to announce a new partnership between This is Me and Time to Change. Time to Change, who run Time to Talk day, is a growing movement of people changing how we all think and act about mental health problems, run by the experts, Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.
Both Time to Change and This is Me have ambitions to improve public attitudes and behaviour towards people with mental health problems, and to reduce the amount of discrimination that people with mental health problems report, and in doing so helping to reduce the stigma.
Through the Employer Pledge, Time to Change recommends that workplaces ask individuals to share their lived experiences around mental health, aligning so strongly with the This is Me mission. Both Time to Change and This is Me know first-hand the impact and the power of storytelling and so today, we say it’s #timetotalk.
Time to Talk Day (1st Feb), a day that brings the nation together to get talking and break the silence around mental health problems. Join in the conversation with the hashtag, #timetotalk. Together we an #endthestigma surrounding mental health problems.
