The annual Grand Finale Dinner took place on Monday 29th October to mark the end of Alderman Charles Bowman’s mayoral year. This year’s Grand Finale was organised in partnership with the Diversity Project with net proceeds from the event being split 50/50 between The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and Diversity Project. Over 430 guests primarily from City businesses gathered in Guildhall for a very special evening, hosted by the Lord Mayor and Helena Morrissey DBE, which started with a Champagne reception in the Old Library with The Matt Carter Trio from the Royal Academy of Music playing jazz standards. This was followed by a 3-course dinner in the Great Hall with singing from the London Contemporary Voices, a though-provoking performance from the spoken word artist George the Poet and speeches from The Lord Mayor and Helena Morrissey DBE, all skillfully introduced by Gavin Lewis from Vanguard, the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. There was also a silent auction with over 40 magnificent prizes ranging from art to unique experiences and signed memorabilia, and a live auction conducted by auctioneer Jonty Hearnden.
The Lord Mayor's Appeal would like to express their sincere thank yous to Helena Morrissey DBE and the Diversity Project for the opportunity to collaborate on the event and her team for all their support.
