On Friday 5th July, an impressive 92 brave people abseiled 156 metres down Barclays HQ, one of the tallest buildings in Canary Wharf. Congratulations to everyone who completed the challenge!
This was the first time that The Lord Mayor’s Appeal Abseil Challenge took place in Canary Wharf. The Lord Mayor Alderman Peter Estlin, Alderman and Sheriff Vincent Keaveny, Sheriff The Hon Liz Green, Lawson Muncaster (Co Founder and Owner of City A.M.) and Christian May (Editor of City A.M.) took part along with many staff members from Barclays and other businesses and livery companies. It was a glorious summer’s day giving the participants a stunning view of London’s skyline as they descended from level 33 to the ground.
You can still support the Lord Mayor in his fundraising by donating to his JustGiving page here
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who took part or made donations and Barclays for kindly hosting the event.
