The Lord Mayor’s Appeal annual Golf Day took place this year on Thursday 26th September at Hadley Wood Golf Club in Barnet, organised by The Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
Despite the unpredictable weather forecast the skies stayed clear and the participating 22 teams, mostly from livery companies, enjoyed a great day out on the course. After a round on the 18-hole course, a drinks reception was held in the beautiful club house followed by a prize giving ceremony with the Lord Mayor and a sumptuous 3-course lunch. Congratulations to the City of London Police for winning the competition, City Livery Club for second place and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists for third place! There was also a raffle, silent and live auction with many golf-related prizes and a heads and tails fundraiser – all of which successfully raised additional funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal would like to express sincere thank yous to The Worshipful Company of International Bankers - in particular Cliff Knowlden and Jason Van Praagh - for all their hard work on the golf day. Thank you also to everyone who attended, donated auction prizes or supported the event in another way.
