2019 has been the biggest year yet for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, and on Tuesday 20 November we celebrated with our annual Impact Reception.
Almost 300 attendees gathered at Mansion House and heard personal presentations on the Appeal’s impact from speakers and representatives from the Appeal’s charity beneficiaries Place2Be, Onside Youth Zones, and Samaritans. There were also speeches about our initiatives City Giving Day, Power of Inclusion, This Is Me and She Can Be… as well as input from corporate partners, and businesses who have taken part in various initiatives.
The Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman William Russell announced a new charity partner The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, who the Appeal will support from 2020-2022.
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal brings together businesses, employees, neighbouring communities, and charities to find solutions to some of London’s most pressing societal issues. During 2019, it delivered groundbreaking programmes with charity partners: Place2Be, Onside, and Samaritans, whilst building on the great work of their thought leadership initiatives. The combined impact of the charity projects and Appeal led initiatives benefits City employees, residents, as well as those who live and work in neighbouring communities.
2019 was an incredible year, and The Lord Mayor’s Appeal is looking forward to an inspiring and impactful 2020.
